Goal 1: Improve the Academic Achievement of all Students

·    Monitor student achievement in order to properly evaluate student levels and provide rigor accordingly

Acacia Action Plan

Action 1: Improve the Academic Achievement of all Students

·     Utilize Goal Tracker as a means to graph data for each student’s academic goals. Use the data provided to evaluate the level of rigor for each student and adjust accordingly

·     Data sharing through the use of Goal Tracker (Data Collection program), TeacherEase (Student information system), and computer drives will be implemented to further support student learning in all classes

·     Understanding by Design and Differentiated Instruction in conjunction with the Common Core State Standards will be utilized in all IEP goals and weekly teacher lesson plans

·     Standards-Based Grading will be utilized in classes in order to provide a more thorough picture of student achievement in individual classes

·     Annual professional development for staff members

Action 2: Improve Communication with Stakeholders

·     Utilize TeacherEase to send regular emails to parents and students regarding upcoming school events, reminders, and tips

·     Provide stakeholders with educational information to keep them informed on current educational topics and trends

·    Professional development for stakeholders

Action 3: Improve Acacia Academy's Transition Program

·    Expand scope and intensity of advertising (internet advertising, school website, print, local business advertisement)

·    Increase work study program options

·    Broadening student access to community by use of public transportation

·    Guided participation in community living

·    Transition program to new facility
